About the Job

A-1 Cement is seeking an experienced form worker or cribber for the concrete prep division.

Serving as concrete contractors in Calgary and surrounding areas, we specialize in the management and installation of concrete flatworks for home builders, homeowners and commercial builders. Since 1956, A-1 Cement has been serving Calgary and area as a leader in concrete flatworks and gravel services. As a team we believe in stepping up to do the right thing and we strive to deliver excellence in all products and services for our clients.


Who you are

  • You are experienced in the construction industry.
  • You have general knowledge of concrete preparation and workplace safety requirements.
  • You have a great understanding of residential construction practices and quality standards.
  • You are professional, detail oriented and an articulate communicator in both written and verbal correspondence.
  • You must have a valid drivers license and clean driving abstract is required.
  • **Nice to have** relevant education in a construction discipline and/or project management certification.
  • **Nice to have** construction estimating knowledge.


Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively operate skid steer or other equipment, and ability to set forms and install gravel and rebar in preparation for concrete pours according to specifications and plans in a timely fashion and to design.
  • Work closely with the project manager, employees and sub contractors as required, to prepare and execute project plans and specifications to ensure that the quality of work is executed on time.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental procedures on site are adhered to in accordance with legislation and company policies to ensure safety of all workers and protection of the public.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with the project manager, employees, and customers with a focus on mutual trust and respect.
