Service Engineering Liaison - SAV CS SVC Tech Spec III in GAC Savannah

Required skills:
1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering. Aeronautical Engineering Degree is preferred, Mechanical or civil degree acceptable with proper experience.
2. Fundamental understanding of aircraft structures design and repair with practical hands on aircraft experience and problem solving.
3. The ability to use computer aided design tools such as CCD, CATIA V4 & V5, AutoCAD, or similar in the design of aircraft structures.
4. Must have experience providing shop floor instructions and working directly with technicians.
5. Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative skills and the ability to effectively communicate the organization's position with external and internal customers.
6. The ability to effectively work with and support a multi-disciplined team of engineers, mechanics, technicians, managers, etc.
7. Physical ability to work in confined spaces, climb stands and ladders and move about typical aircraft work platforms.
8. Experience designing aircraft structural repair drawings using basic static stress analysis in support of the drawing.
9. Flexibility to move quickly from one assignment to the next and the ability to handle multiple issues simultaneously.
10. Experience with parts manufacturing methods, techniques and practices and the ability to support manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies.
Preferred skills:
1. Gulfstream structures engineering experience, e.g. G450, G550 G650 G700, G800 and G280.
2. Experience in the evaluation and development of structural repairs for composite and metal bonded structures.
3. Experience with Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Maintenance Programs, Component manuals, and Structural Repair Manuals.
4. Experience with aircraft recovery and shoring.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development

  1. Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope .
  2. Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities .
  3. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge .
  4. Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas .
  5. Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements .
  6. Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives .
  7. Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities .
  8. Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program .

  1. Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
  2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
