Who you are
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Data Analyst who is highly motivated to contribute to the vision and development of our next generation of analytic data tools for internal and external customers. In this role, you will work closely with business partners to understand their data needs, gather requirements, identify reporting solutions, and collaborate with data engineering teams to prioritize and deliver insights rather than just reports. You will rely on your skills as an excellent communicator to collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Growth, while using your strong technical skills to interface with Senior and Staff engineers to ensure product compatibility with Data Analytics best practices. Additionally, you will utilize your problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot performance issues, guarantee all analytics meet SLAs, and evangelize Data Analytics and Data Engineering best practices to help build a best-in-class Data Warehouse platform.
What you'll do
  • Serve as the primary data partner for key business teams, helping them define their analytics roadmaps and prioritize projects that drive business value
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Tableau to provide teams with actionable insights
  • Craft complex SQL queries and perform ad hoc analysis to answer critical business questions and evaluate the impact of new features
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, compelling stories for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Contribute to the evolution of the data warehouse by collaborating with Data Engineering teams
  • Build and maintain the Data Catalog or Data Dictionary to support data discovery and ensure data governance
  • Establish best practices and guidelines for data quality, privacy, and access control
  • Identify opportunities to improve the analytics platform's performance and report usage
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to define service level agreements (SLAs) for data products
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the data team
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in an Analytics or Business Intelligence role
  • 4+ years of experience performing complex data analysis and demonstrating mastery with SQL
  • 4+ years of experience developing visualizations and dashboards in Tableau or a similar BI tool
  • 2+ years of experience using dbt and Snowflake
  • Possess expertise in relational and dimensional database structures, principles, and best practices
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to collaborate with Data Engineering teams to architect a data platform
  • Exhibit experience working in Agile SCRUM teams
  • Display strong project management and independent work skills
  • Bring excitement to working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment

The anticipated base salary for this position is $129,000.00 USD to $175,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by a number of variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis' total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more. #LI-CM1 #LI-Onsite
