Engineer I - Power Generation / Industrial Systems

Position Overview

The Engineer I role is an entry-level engineering position responsible for applying engineering principles, design criteria, and software tools to support the design and construction of power-related systems.

This role supports estimating, design development, construction documentation, and contractor oversight while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design Support

  • Apply engineering processes and design criteria to develop power-related system designs.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and developing design options.
  • Prepare construction specifications and transmit construction packages.
  • Estimate project materials and support procurement planning.

Contractor Oversight & QA

  • Provide guidance and oversight to approved contractors.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of contractor-developed designs and cost estimates.
  • Review construction packages for accuracy and compliance.

Operational & Field Support

  • Support construction and maintenance teams in daily operations.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and assist with drawing updates and markups.
  • Ensure design compliance with company and industry standards.

Standards & Process Understanding

  • Develop knowledge of:
    • Planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance processes
    • Internal departmental functions
    • Design practices and work processes
    • Industry and company design standards
  • Support development of design standards and system criteria.

Safety & Compliance
