Job description

Summary
National Power seeking for a dependable, detail-oriented Electrician Helper to join our team in our southeastern U.S. region. Under the general direction of and reporting to the Director, Service, the Electrician will primarily be responsible for performing lead electrical work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment for National Power customers. The successful candidate will have the ability to independently assess the needs of a job based on schematics or blueprints but may also carry out assignments based on written and oral instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Install, repair, and service electrical systems
  • Source or fabricate replacement electrical components
  • Knowledge of the NEC and Interpret blueprints and carry out work accordingly
  • Guide and oversee other electricians as necessary
  • Obtain required equipment, tools, and materials for projects
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Provide assistance during emergencies
  • Assist with the installation of UPS systems
  • Update project records and prepare relevant documents and reports
Eligibility Requirements
Qualified candidates will possess the ability and willingness to do the following:
  • Travel up to 100% (up to 2 weeks)
  • Lift at least 75 lbs.
  • Push or pull cables up to 60 lbs.
  • Climb ladders up to 8 ft
  • Work/stand on ladders for long periods of time
  • Stand continuously
  • Frequently reach above, below, or at shoulder level
  • Frequently bend, twist, or stoop
  • Frequently crouch or squat
  • Be exposed to a central office/cable office environment with moderate noise levels and nominal variations in heat and cold
Education/Experience/Skills
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 6 years in Commercial. (Experience in the telecommunications industry a plus)
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive pay depending on previous experience and current certifications. Overtime is also a factor and is paid at 1.5 X base. We are a performance-based company and pay will ultimately reflect the employee's productivity and overall performance.
