Information on the division:
Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Hรฉroux-Devtek's centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.

Summary:
The Materials & Processes(M&P) Engineer works cross-functionally to make engineering & materials decisions and changes to ensure product integrity during design, manufacturing, repair, and aftermarket service for the Hรฉroux-Devtek Landing Gear Division.
Main responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, qualify, approve and specify all materials and processes used on landing gear design components.
  • Technically support manufacturing operations related to: specifications, procedures, manufacturing plans, process techniques, deviations, substitutions, repair, MRB dispositions, certifications, corrective action, operator training certification, internal and external audits, efficiency and cost reduction projects.
  • Collaborate with Quality and MRB teams to make change or scrap determinations.
  • Collaborate with Process and Engineering teams to make structural integrity determinations for high strength steel and alloys throughout the plating and treatment process.
  • Act as a delegated M&PE for manufacturing plan and process technique approval.
  • Represent the company as an active M&P member and subscriber within the Nadcap councils including: meetings, task groups, internal processes and external process supplier accreditation.
  • High level of responsibility: Must be able to operate independently. Must be able to make sound engineering decisions.

Our ideal candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in materials or metallurgical engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years in the metallurgical industry, preferably in aerospace
  • Experience in landing gear materials and related processes, such as high strength steel, aluminum and titanium alloys, heat treating, plating, peening, forging, casting and NDT processes
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing
