Title: CDL School Bus Driver 

Reports To: Transportation Coordinator 

Hours: Varies  (part-time)/ non-exempt
Hourly Wage:
$20.00 per hour 

Job description: This position is responsible for driving school owned or rented vehicles for the school 

Requirements

Requirements: 

Certification/ License Required: Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.  MUST HAVE A SCHOOL BUS ENDOREMENT AND MUST HAVE A PASSENGER ENDORSEMENT. 


Must pass background check including motor vehicle background check and drug test


Physical ability to lift, bend and sit for prolonged periods of time. Upper body mobility and the ability to lift 25 pounds. 


Good written and oral communication skills. 


Essential Duties:

Shows support and high esteem for MPCS;

Models Christian behavior at all times;

Ministers to students compassionately and sincerely so they can continue to grow in their faith;

Accepts the work of MPCS as a personal calling and ministry ;

Prompt and regular attendance; 

Maintains contact with Transportation Coordinator if absent; 

Performs pre-trip inspection of bus as required, also performs post-trip inspection to confirm no students were left on the bus; 

Fuels assigned bus as needed;

Helps to deliver and pick up bus at mechanic as needed;

Submits all reports and time sheets in a timely manner;

Operates school bus in accordance with the laws of Georgia; 

Ability to drive vehicle in all types of weather conditions including, but not limited to, sun, fog, rain, sleet, hail, snow, and ice;

Operates school bus without receiving a traffic violation or warning citation from state or local law enforcement; 

Operates school bus without any preventable accidents; 

Maintains external and internal cleanliness of bus for safe and comfortable operation;

Reports delays, accidents, and unusual situations to the Transportation Coordinator; 

Maintains cordial relations with parents, administrators, other employees, and the general public;

Maintains student discipline on the bus and refers serious infractions to Transportation Coordinator; 

Presents professional appearance; 

Has the ability to drive any make and model bus in transportation fleet; and, 

Performs other duties as assigned by Transportation Coordinator.
