Concrete Batch Plant Operator
Independence Excavating is looking to hire an experienced and seasoned Concrete Batch Plant Operator to our team! In this role, you will oversee the mixing process and check the batch against specifications and regulations on the requirements of each concrete type.

A typical day looks like:
  • Setting up, operating, maintaining, and taking down of Portable Concrete Plant (RexCon 12SE or Similar)
  • Verifying proper input of mix design components for proper mixing of products on a daily basis
  • Operating primary machinery and additional equipment for production, such as pumps and conveyor belts and unloads materials
  • Maintaining and servicing equipment assigned to plant operation
  • Monitoring material inventories and coordinate material deliveries
  • Reporting daily production quantities, material usage, equipment usage and fuel consumption
  • Maintaining/providing records for plant permit requirements/assure compliance
  • Maintaining plant area in an orderly manner
  • Operating equipment safely and efficiently
  • Cleaning of equipment daily
  • Adhering to all safety practices, procedures, and policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional construction certifications or training preferred
  • At least 3 years' experience of Concrete Batch Plant Operator in the road construction and airfield paving industry
  • Candidates must possess strong mathematical skills
  • Well versed in trial batches and mix designs.
  • NRMCA and/or ACI certification is preferred but not required (Must be willing to get)
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, general contractors, and local enforcement agencies
  • Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
  • Must have valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • 100% Travel required
