Job Summary:
InComm Payments is a pioneer in the payment (FinTech) industry with over 30 years of experience and a team of over 3,000 employees. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering is responsible for leading engineering teams to deliver complex software systems, ensuring reliable delivery and alignment with business priorities while developing engineering talent and driving execution across multiple initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, coach, and mentor Software Engineers and Engineering Leads across one or more teams
• Drive talent strategy, including hiring, retention, succession planning, and performance management
• Set clear expectations, goals, and development plans aligned with organizational priorities
• Own delivery of major initiatives spanning multiple systems or domains
• Ensure predictable execution through strong planning, prioritization, and resource allocation
• Drive Agile execution discipline, including sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery metrics
• Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks; drive resolution
• Guide architectural decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards and long-term strategy
• Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and secure, with appropriate observability and operational readiness
• Review and influence design, implementation, and testing approaches across teams
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, DevOps, automation, AI-assisted development, etc.)
• Own production health, including incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation
• Ensure readiness across monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks prior to releases
• Drive continuous improvements in reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to define roadmaps and priorities
• Align engineering execution with business objectives and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5-8+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years managing engineering teams
• Proven track record delivering complex, distributed systems in production environments
• Strong understanding of software architecture and system design
• Experience with modern development practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps)
• Experience with performance, scalability, and reliability engineering
• Demonstrated ability to scale teams and deliver through others
• Strong decision-making capability in ambiguous and high-pressure environments
• Ability to balance technical depth with business priorities
