About the Role – Tax Consultant
TPC is looking for candidates with 0-3 years tax experience for this entry-level role. CPA-eligible candidates having a previous tax internship are preferred. Ideal candidates will have the desire to learn and grow with our firm and be able to contribute to our fun, positive culture!
Requirements
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or JD degree in accounting, tax, or other closely related field
Responsibilities
• Possess the fundamental accounting knowledge to generate financial statements and make adjusting journal entries for the ultimate preparation of income tax returns
• Prepare workpapers, schedules, calculations and other items related to tax return filings, estimated tax payments, and extension payments
• Prepare federal and state returns using tax software
• Utilize Microsoft Office software on a high level, especially Excel
• Assist with technical research supporting tax positions taken in tax filings, including drafting written memorandums
• Contact tax agencies to obtain information, resolve issues, and reconcile notices
• Travel when necessary
• Establish a comfort level working from imperfect data through to a polished product
• Hone organizational and time management skills
