Inbound Insurance Sales information

What are some common challenges faced in an inbound insurance sales role?

One of the most common challenges in Inbound Insurance Sales is handling a high volume of inquiries while ensuring each potential customer receives personalized and accurate information. Representatives often need to quickly understand a prospect's unique needs and recommend appropriate insurance products, sometimes in a fast-paced or quota-driven environment. Managing rejection and maintaining motivation are important, as not every call will result in a sale. However, with the right training and supportive team environment, these challenges become opportunities to refine your consultative sales skills and grow your career within the insurance industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in inbound insurance sales?

To thrive as an Inbound Insurance Sales representative, you need strong communication skills, active listening abilities, and a solid understanding of insurance products, often supported by a high school diploma or relevant licensure. Familiarity with CRM platforms, sales tracking software, and quoting systems is typically required, along with any state-mandated insurance licensing. Persistence, resilience, and a customer-focused attitude are standout soft skills in this position. These skills are crucial to effectively convert inquiries into sales and provide accurate, trustworthy guidance to clients.

What is an inbound insurance sales?

An Inbound Insurance Sales job involves handling incoming calls from potential customers interested in purchasing insurance products. Agents listen to customer needs, provide policy information, answer questions, and guide them through the purchase process. The role requires strong communication, sales, and customer service skills to match clients with the right coverage. Unlike outbound sales, agents do not cold-call; instead, they respond to inquiries from prospective customers.

Job description

Sales Development Representative - Home Services (Inbound/Outbound)

Base Pay: $20.00-$25.00/hour + commission + performance incentives

Turn Conversations Into Booked Business

We're looking for a driven, phone-confident Sales Development Representative to join our high-performance call center team. This is a sales role first - you'll make outbound calls, follow up on estimates, and convert every conversation, inbound or outbound, into a scheduled job. If you're motivated by goals, comfortable handling objections, and know how to ask for the close, this is where you'll thrive.

Ready to Stand Out? Call (866) 887-2218 and follow the prompts to tell us about yourself. This is a quick, automated first step - about 3 minutes - and it's the first stage of our interview process. It's not a scam or a robocall; it's how we hear your phone presence firsthand.

Who We Are

Current Electric is an award-winning home services company built on teamwork, accountability, and delivering a five-star customer experience. Our Sales Development team drives our growth by creating opportunities and supporting our field teams every day.

Why Choose Current Electric

  • Competitive hourly pay ($20.00-$25.00/hr based on experience) plus commission and performance-based incentives
  • Comprehensive health benefits: medical, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance
  • Health Savings Account
  • Consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM (no nights, no weekends)
  • 401(k) with company match up to 4%
  • Employee referral bonus program
  • Ongoing training and development in a team-focused, high-performance environment

What You'll Do

Drive Revenue Through Every Call

  • Make outbound calls to schedule service, follow up on estimates, and generate new opportunities
  • Convert inbound and outbound conversations into booked appointments
  • Confidently guide customers to the next step - every call has a goal

Perform in a Metrics-Driven Environment

  • Hit clear, structured targets for call volume and booking performance
  • Manage a high-activity workload while staying organized and accurate
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual and team quotas

Deliver a Five-Star Experience

  • Communicate with clarity, professionalism, and purpose
  • Build trust quickly and handle objections with confidence
  • Represent the brand in every interaction

Be a Strong Teammate

  • Coordinate with dispatch and leadership to keep schedules running smoothly
  • Support team goals in a positive, accountable environment
  • Lead by example through communication and consistent performance

What You Bring

Experience

  • 1-3+ years in outbound sales, telesales, appointment setting, or inside sales - call center or customer service background is a plus, not a requirement
  • Comfortable making high-volume outbound calls and working toward booking/close targets

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to control and guide a conversation
  • Confidence handling objections and asking directly for the next step
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
  • Emotional intelligence, professionalism, and accountability

Technical

  • Experience with CRM systems
  • ServiceTitan experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs and Sheets)

Education High school diploma or GED required

What Success Looks Like

  • You consistently meet or exceed booking and call performance goals
  • You turn conversations into scheduled work, not just completed calls
  • You take ownership of your numbers and look for ways to improve
  • You bring energy, focus, and a team-first mindset every day
