Job description

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:30am - 5:00pm CST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Initiates prior authorizations for outpatient medication injectables so members can receive medication in a timely manner
  • Take calls from providers regarding chemotherapy and specialty medication injectables as well as verifying HIPAA
  • Take calls from providers and enter services that they are requesting into the system
  • Must have accurate documentation and meet weekly metrics
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1 years of experience in health insurance OR medical billing
  • Experience working with key performance indicators (average handle time, contacts per trans hour, quality, etc)
  • 1 years of experience taking 40 calls in a high-volume call center environment
  • Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work Monday - Friday, in an 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 years of experience working with ICD 10, CPT & HCPS codes
  • Professional experience in a clerical OR administrative support related role
  • Pharmacy experience including working knowledge of prescription drug names
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word (creating, editing, saving documents)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
