Job description

The Inbound Logistics Supervisor will lead our centralized inbound appointing team and will be responsible for ensuring optimal inbound flow to our facilities. This will require close coordination across our Branches, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics and 3PL providers including Carriers as well as Technology and other Service Providers. The Inbound Logistics Supervisor will be a key member of our Supply Chain and Logistics leadership.  

Essential Duties: 

  • Supervise a team that ensures all inbound freight exceptions are efficiently appointed.
  • Ensure efficient resolution to issue escalations to meet both customer and vendor requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including 3rd party inbound vendors, transportation suppliers, Inbound Operations and freight management companies. 
  • Conduct weekly staffing reviews with internal inbound Operations teams to determine appropriate staffing levels for each inbound receiving branch. 
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities, developing and executing action plans. 
  • Analyze and report on inbound program and provide findings to leadership. 
  • Work in conjunction with supply planning to monitor day to day volume fluctuations, managing them within defined limits.
  • Manage freight claim (OS/D) preparation standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct inventory and network analysis.
  • Lead vendor freight analysis and conversion.
  • Support merchandizing analysis, category management RPI/RFPs, and new customer analysis.
  • Coordinate with information systems to ensure system setups are maintained to meet location requirements and facility constraints. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • Experience in leading a team of direct reports and or project leadership experience 
  • Experience in logistics scheduling using Freight Scheduling programs (e.g., Managed Receiving, TMS BluJay, E2Open, Retalix Smart Dock)
  • Proven experience in process improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
