Role Description:

As a Lead Solutions Architect at ShipBob, you will be a key technical leader within our Solutions Architecture team, driving strategy and execution of complex integration initiatives with our most critical partners and Mid-Market and enterprise merchants. You will own the direction of integrations across both custom and general-purpose solutions and play a pivotal role in mentoring team members, improving internal processes, and aligning teams to deliver the best solutions possible.

You will continue to act as a senior technical advisor, while taking on a leadership role in solution design reviews, technical governance, and representing the team in strategic conversations across Sales, Partnerships, Engineering, and Product.

This is a highly influential IC role that sets the technical bar for the Solutions Architecture team and helps ShipBob scale integrations in a repeatable, efficient, and partner-friendly manner. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Solutions Architect.

What you'll do:

  • Support our sales team for integration buildouts that support our largest and most critical deals.
  • Serve as the go-to expert for API and ERP/ecommerce/marketplace system integrations, including NetSuite, Temu, Macy's, and others.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for large or at-risk deals and integration projects.
  • Mentor junior Solutions Architects and establish internal best practices and reusable patterns and documentation for integration design.
  • Interface directly with customers to collect user requirements and system documentation.
  • Evaluate and improve the processes around scoping, documenting, and delivering integration projects.
  • Coordinate with executive-level stakeholders internally and externally to ensure alignment on integration priorities.
  • Support high-stakes merchants, developers, and partners on integrations projects that are built by them.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • 6+ years of experience in roles that demand both customer interaction and technical prowess (e.g. Solutions, Sales Engineering, technical account management).
  • 6+ years of experience with integration development, APIs or IPaaS systems.
  • Strong track record of delivering complex API integrations in ecommerce, logistics, or SaaS environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and mentoring or managing others.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful API design and ERP/Ecommerce platform architecture (e.g. NetSuite, Shopify, BigCommerce)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrated through a track record of clearly and concisely conveying information and ideas to all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms (e.g. Workato, Celigo, Boomi, Paragon).
  • Familiarity with the 3PL/logistics space is a strong plus.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Basic Life Insurance
  • Paid Maternity/Parental Leave Program
  • Paid Holidays & Flexible Time Off Program
  • Paid Sick Leave
  • Wellness Days (1 day/quarter)
  • 401K Match
