- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Cardiac, nstemi, post cath lab, afib, chf, GI bleed, detox, resp distress, sepsis. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Management with IV nitro, heparin, diltazem, amio. Post cath lab would be beneficial.
Art line experience appreciated but not required. - Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Nitro, diltazem, insulin, heparin, amio. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes.
Charge RN's take 2 patients. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes, 1-10/12 depending on census. - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Cpap, bipap, optiflow.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, there are tele tech and they read the strips.
GE is the monitor. - Shifts & Scheduling: 7a-7p, 7p-7a. No self-scheduling.
Usually bring agency in as variable or straight nights. - Weekend Requirements: Every other. - Holiday Requirements: Every other.
- Is there call or a standby requirement?: Yes. - Floating Requirements: Yes - to MS or IMC overflow in ICU. - Scrub Color/Dress code: Navy blue.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: Up to 3 days. *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield.
