Responsibilities

The RN,CDE will provide education, assessment, follow-up and care of outpatients in both the Endocrinology Center for Bone Health and the Diabetes Center, to include adolescents, children, adults and pregnant patients. The RN,CDE will work cooperatively as part of the Diabetes Management Team, to provide outpatient care and follow up of the patient under the direction of the Endocrinologist. The team management may occur in a group setting or individually with patients. RN,CDE may be responsible for adjustment of insulin and medication doses. The Diabetes Nurse Educator will follow Medical Staff guidelines in regards to any policies or procedures outlined for clinical care purposes.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Education and Work Experience:
    • Must possess a high school diploma or GED
    • Must possess a degree in RN,CDE
    • Diabetes Management experience necessary
    • Must have Endocrine practice experience
