Job Summary
The Quality Control and Inspection Coordinator at XCaliber Container is responsible for overseeing the quality control processes for storage containers throughout the manufacturing and fabrication stages. This role involves coordinating inspections, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and implementing quality assurance practices to maintain high product standards. The coordinator will work closely with production teams, suppliers, and customers to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures for storage container production and fabrication.
  • Establish and monitor quality standards for materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet company and industry specifications.
  • Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
  • Review and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, quality checklists, and compliance records.
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics identifying quality rejects by type of defect, area and frequency.

Inspection Coordination:
  • Schedule and coordinate inspections for incoming materials, in-process production, and final products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform or oversee detailed inspections of containers at various stages of production, including visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests.
  • Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure that materials meet quality specifications before mass production.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality inspections and test results.

Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify potential areas for process improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and develop action plans to address and prevent recurrence.
  • Promote a culture of quality within the organization by educating employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in quality assurance and inspection techniques.

Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and industry regulations and standards.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance reports to management, highlighting key metrics, quality issues, and improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation for external audits and inspections, ensuring all quality documentation is complete and up-to-date.

Customer and Supplier Relations:
  • Address and resolve quality-related customer complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate quality standards and expectations to suppliers and work collaboratively with procurement to resolve quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with operations and suppliers to support quality assurance efforts.

Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or inspection, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Proficient in quality management software and tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement effective solutions for quality issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Certification in quality management or inspection (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO, ASQ) is a plus.
  • Experience in the storage container, construction, or fabrication industry.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to manufacturing.
  • Bilingual preferred.
