Job Summary:
An Inspector must have an aptitude for mechanics and an eye for detail. Their function is to ensure that all parts and products under their care are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Able to perform cleaning methods on small optics using both hands and a variety of tools such as tweezers, suction cups, clamps, Q-Tips, etc.
  • Able to interpret blueprints of complex machined parts and be able to inspect parts accurately.
  • Inspect Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (True position, Runout, Concentricity, Flatness, Perpendicularity, etc.)
  • Inspect complex machining parts by using manual hand tools (height gauge, micrometer, Sunnen hone gage, bore gauge, pitch micrometer, optical comparator, and other hand tools)
  • Perform visual inspection for chips, fractures, cracks and voids under microscope or toolmakers scope
  • Operate marking equipment for traceability identification
  • Calculate progressive dimensions for suitability of downstream applications
  • Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
  • Inspection experience a plus but not necessary.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required.
  • Good time management.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Skilled with mechanics.

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required:
High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum Experience Required:
Entry level position.
