What You Will Do:
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and technical instructions for inspections.
  • Inspect materials, parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies according to drawings and specifications
  • Communicate quality control issues and recommend changes to enhance product quality
  • Perform routine checks on red tag bins in the production areas to ensure established NCR procedures are followed.
  • Perform incoming inspection of purchased product in accordance with industry standard and AQL sampling plan
  • Assure that manufactured product meet quality control standards, engineering specifications and customer requirements
  • Participate in investigation and disposition of customer complaints, nonconforming products and returned goods
  • Read and interpret material test reports and heat treat / mechanical certs
  • Demonstrate a personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervision immediately as noticed
  • Initiate corrective action requests when conditions are averse to quality
  • Complete, inspect and distribute all quality records and documents, as necessary
  • Participate in Lean events with active involvement in CI initiatives
  • Understand and follow verbal and written instruction

Position Details:
  • Candidate must reside in: Houston TX, or surrounding areas
  • Work week and shift: 6AM-2:30PM, M - F, some daily overtime and weekend work may be occasionally required
  • Compensation package offered: Competitive hourly rate and quarterly bonus eligibility
  • New hire orientation is provided
  • Training provided on processes, procedures, and product assembly
  • PPE requirements may include safety glasses, steel toed shoes, gloves, etc.
  • Work location is in an enclosed shop quality lab environment with an open workspace

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years' experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and Quality Management Software (QMS)
  • Must be skilled in using inspection equipment including Calipers, Mic's, Bore gauges, Optical Comparator, Hardness Testers, Height Gage etc.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, able to work with limited supervision
  • Must be able to read and interpret material certs and heat treat / mechanical certs
  • Knowledge of assembly inspection, testing and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Machine Shop In-process Inspection, ECN Process and GD&T
  • Knowledge of quality standards and manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team environment with a high degree of accuracy, strong organization skill as well as excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Show respect, understanding, tact and concern to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others

Physical Demands:
  • Role is deemed safety sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.
  • Minimal bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, collating/filing, and dialing.
  • Occasional standing and hearing.
  • Frequent lifting between 25lbs to 40lbs, walking and writing.
  • Constant lifting up to 10lbs, handling, holding, grasping, turning, working with hands, fingering, picking, pinching, fine manipulation, using a keyboard and mouse, viewing a computer monitor and small parts and products, sitting, seeing and speaking.
  • Work environment includes temperature-controlled shop floor, quality lab, front offices and conference rooms.

  • Experience in Oracle ERP
  • Experience in Entropy QMS
  • Experience in Adobe
  • Knowledgeable of Industry Standard Requirements (ANSI, ASME, ISO 9001, etc.)
  • Operate and program CMM (knowledge or FARO/ROMER arm a plus)
