Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION – Part Inspector TECHNICIAN:
NATURE OF WORK:
  • Inspection and verification of precision components.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use of Calipers, micrometers, height gages, comparator, go-no/go gages and CMM on sample product.
  • Performs process capability studies and Gage R & R studies.
  • Performs in-process testing and communicates deviation from requirements or unacceptable trends to the Production Superintendent and Quality Manager.
  • Record test data and apply statistical process control (SPC) procedures to specified characteristics.
  • Assist Production Supervisor/Plan Manager in providing dimensional feedback after corrective actions have been implemented.
  • Responsible for maintaining traceability of product through the inspection process.
  • Writes NCMR reports on nonconforming product to the hold area.
  • Interprets engineering drawing and schematic diagrams.
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing shop setting.  Standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds and bending/stooping throughout the work period is required.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year experience in Quality and use of gauges; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Forklift Certified or ability to be certified by employer.
