Job description
The Business Development Manager is focused exclusively on growing the pipeline and securing new customers for the StockX Live platform. You will be the tip of the spear for supply growth across our focus categories. You own the pipeline of sellers and creators who will bring inventory, energy, and community credibility to the platform. This is a ground-floor role on a launch-stage product - the kind where your first 90 days of work will be referenced in the playbook for years to come.
This is a hunter role centered on prospecting, outreach, presenting solutions, and closing new business across primarily Live and Listings product lines.
What You'll Do:Supply & Seller Acquisition- Build and own a robust pipeline of sellers, creators, and shops within StockX focus categories of trading cards
- Drive outbound outreach, qualification, and onboarding enablement for high-potential sellers
- Prospect across community channels - DMs, Discord, shows, forums, and social platforms - to identify sellers with strong live potential
- Maintain CRM pipeline discipline with rigorous activity tracking, forecasting, and handoff documentation
- Cultivate long-term relationships with strategic sellers and community leaders who anchor category supply
- Educate prospective sellers on the StockX Live format, economic opportunity, and what a successful show looks like
- Conduct product demos and first-show walkthroughs with sellers new to live commerce
- Partner with Account Management to ensure clean acquisition-to-activation handoffs and strong early seller performance
- Capture seller feedback and surface product, UX, and tooling gaps to the Live product team
- Serve as a credible, authentic representative of StockX within category communities
- Engage deeply with community norms, vernacular, and cultural drivers to inform outreach strategy and seller pitch
- Build and leverage a personal network of category-relevant sellers, graders, breakers, and community influencers
- Represent StockX at events, trade shows, and community activations as needed
- Track and report on pipeline metrics: outreach volume, conversion rates, time-to-first-show, and category coverage
- Use data to diagnose acquisition bottlenecks, optimize outreach playbooks, and identify the highest-leverage seller segments
- Contribute to a repeatable, category-centric seller acquisition GTM engine that scales into new verticals
- Surface actionable insights to the Head of StockX Live and cross-functional stakeholders
- Reach goals and KPIs set by the team leader.
- A consistently full, well-qualified pipeline across Live, Listings, but ultimately, new platform business.
- Educate prospective sellers on the StockX Live format, economic opportunity, and what a successful show looks like.
- Conduct product demos and first-show walkthroughs with sellers new to live commerce.
- Recruit high quality volume sellers through email, phone, social media and visits
- Accurate CRM data that gives the team clear visibility into deal stages and forecasts.
- 3-6 years, proven track record in Account management, B2B business development, sales, or a relationship-focused role.
- Familiarity with collectibles/TCG culture specifically Sports Cards or Pokemon required.
- Familiarity with the Live shopping experience and landscape.
- Strong prospecting and outreach skills with the ability to open new conversations.
- Confident presenting solutions and negotiating to close.
- Disciplined CRM and pipeline management habits.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in handing off to internal teams.
- Existing seller network within a focus category (e.g., Live Sellers, TCG breakers, Sneaker Resellers, collectibles shops)
- Personal experience selling on a live commerce platform.
- Experience at a startup or 0-to-1 product - you know the difference between building a process and following one.
- Comfort with CRM tools, sales pipelines, analytics dashboards, and seller performance metrics.
- Marketplace experience across both supply and demand sides.
Pursuant to the various pay transparency laws/acts, the base salary is $80,000 plus commission based on sales and opportunities for benefits (e.g., medical, dental), and equity. Compensation is dependent on geography and may vary.
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and any other state or local hiring regulations, we will consider for employment any qualified applicant, including those with arrest and conviction records, in a manner consistent with the applicable regulation.
