Job Title: OperatorJob Description

As an operator, you will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies, inspecting them for quality and quantity, and ensuring accuracy against paperwork. You will also be responsible for storing and organizing materials in the warehouse according to procedures and safety regulations. Additionally, you will load and unload trucks and other vehicles, including operating forklifts and other powered equipment, with training provided if necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare orders for delivery or pickup by accurately picking, packing, wrapping, and labeling products.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through physical counts and utilizing inventory management systems, potentially including handheld scanners.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations, including maintaining and operating warehouse equipment safely.
  • Identify and report any damaged or missing goods to supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in the training of new warehouse employees when needed.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with forklift operation (minimum of 6 months).
  • Skills in inventory management, picking, packing, and material handling.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with line management and other plant employees.
  • Working knowledge of elementary math to acknowledge correct bag weights.
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures while operating equipment and detect incorrect bag weights and seals.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 30 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for approximately 75% of the workday.
  • Frequently and repeatedly bend, extend, stoop, stretch, twist, and maintain good visual acuity to note adequate bag sealing and weight.
