Job description

Design Ready Fabrications is seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Operator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating and maintaining press brake machinery, with a proven track record of safety and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brakes to produce high-quality components according to specifications.

2nd shift openings available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation:
    • Operate and maintain press brake machines, specifically Amada Press Brakes.
    • Set up machines, load materials, and program controls according to specifications and production requirements.
    • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure high-quality output.
    • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machines to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams and machine leads for more complex repairs or scheduled maintenance.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
    • Identify and report any product inconsistencies or machine malfunctions to the supervisor.
    • Maintain accurate records of machine operation, including any issues encountered and corrective actions taken.
  • Safety amp; Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to company safety policies.
    • Report any hazards or safety concerns immediately to management and/or Human Resources.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other operators, supervisors, quality control personnel to meet production goals.
    • Assist with training new operators and share best practices with team members.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operation of the production line.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining or a related field preferred.
  • Experience operating press brake machinery, with a strong preference for experience with Amada Press Brakes.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient in operating and programming press brake controls.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with attention to clarity, quality, and precision.
  • Proactive, quick-thinking, problem-solving approach to work.
  • Ability to use a large variety of hand and power tools with proper safety techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50-85 pounds occasionally (with assistance).
  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for up to 10 hours throughout the shift.
