Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients presenting with mood disorders to evaluate the intensity, frequency, and duration of their symptoms.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their specific needs, goals, and preferences.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address clients' unique challenges.
  • Educate clients and their families on mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care practices to empower them in their recovery journey.
  • Monitor client progress consistently, documenting treatment outcomes and adjusting plans as necessary in collaboration with the client.
  • Work closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to support integrated care for clients requiring pharmaceutical interventions.
  • Stay informed about advancements in mood disorder research and treatment methodologies to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Advocate for clients' mental health needs and work towards reducing stigma associated with mental health issues within the community.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role involves working primarily with adults facing mood disorders, which may include depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. The therapist will have the opportunity to work with diverse individuals from various backgrounds, tailoring their approaches to meet the distinct needs of each client. Building strong, trust-based relationships with clients and their families will be crucial to promoting engagement and facilitating positive therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a secure and trusting therapeutic relationship with clients through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude to support clients effectively throughout their treatment processes.
  • Exemplary organizational and time-management skills to effectively balance client workloads and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Experience

Prior experience in working with mood disorders is highly desirable.
