Title: Graduate Assistant - Cancer Epidemiology
Monthly Type: 11 Month Full Time/Part Time: Part Time - Full Time Equivalency (FTE): 50% FTE
Posting Start Date: June 15, 2026

Available Positions: One (1) Temporary/Permanent: Temporary
Salary: Step 14 ($2,335.50 per month)

Job Duties:
  1. Provide support to PI with research projects and data collection.
  2. Conduct lab procedures (CB) or data analysis and interpretation (PSP).
  3. Assist with developing a strategic plan, evaluation of progress, process and outcomes, and creating data-based profiles for research studies.
  4. Assist PI with writing research papers for journal submissions.
  5. Maintain record of human subjects in research studies.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. A classified University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate student (new or continuing). Good academic standing (3.0 GPA or above).
  2. Enrolled into a University of Hawaii at Manoa graduate program.
  3. Have a background in Cellular Molecular Biology, Molecular Sciences and Bioengineering, Public Health, Psychology, Nutrition, and/ or other related fields.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
  6. Competent in general computer programs (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  7. Ability to safeguard confidential and sensitive material and information.
  8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Candidate working on a doctoral degree.
  2. Students with significant experience in the Pacific region.
  3. Knowledge of database management and program evaluation.
  4. Working knowledge of SAS, R and other data analysis software or experience working in research labs.
