Location: Franklin, MA

Reports To: President, Dynisco Instruments LLC

About Dynisco

Dynisco Instruments LLC (www.dynisco.com) is a global leader in providing innovative solutions for the plastics extrusion and polymer industries. With manufacturing facilities in Franklin, MA and Seri Manjung, Malaysia, and a sales office and distribution center in Heilbronn, Germany, Dynisco delivers critical instrumentation, sensors, and systems to customers worldwide.

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Operations Director to lead and transform our Franklin, MA factory operations.

Position Overview

The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Franklin, MA facility's operations, including manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, planning, supply chain, quality, EH&S, and logistics. The right leader will bring both strategic vision and tactical execution, with a proven ability to build processes and systems where they do not yet exist.

This individual must be equally comfortable operating at the leadership level, setting direction and shaping strategy, while also engaging directly in the day-to-day details of factory operations.

This position is on-site daily at our Franklin, MA facility. Limited travel may be required to support occasional cross-site initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Factory Leadership & Process Transformation

  • Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for manufacturing operations at the Franklin, MA facility.
  • Own the Manufacturing Engineering function, driving process design, tooling, and equipment reliability in support of production goals.
  • Ensure operational strategies align with overall business objectives and support growth, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Engineering, and our sites in Malaysia and Germany to optimize the end-to-end Order-to-Delivery process.
  • Lead transformation efforts focused on planning, scheduling, shop floor execution, productivity, and workforce engagement.
  • Design, implement, and institutionalize world-class operational processes and systems.
  • Drive measurable performance improvements centered on key operational and financial KPIs.
  • Improve transaction discipline and accuracy, including building a robust cycle counting process and annual physical inventory program to ensure data integrity and financial accuracy.

Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Excellence

  • Personally lead deployment of Lean Manufacturing, 80/20 methodology, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Implement best practices that simplify operations, reduce variation, and improve process yields and throughput.
  • Partner with other teams as needed to stabilize processes, address capacity needs, and support new technologies and products.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Lead operations' involvement in new product introduction, following the structured stage-gate process in partnership with Engineering.
  • Ensure manufacturability, operational readiness, and smooth transition from prototype to full-scale production.

ERP & Systems Optimization

  • Ensure ERP and supporting systems are configured and utilized to improve planning, scheduling, shop floor control, and decision-making.
  • Leverage digital tools to enhance operational visibility, data integrity, and efficiency.

Supply Chain & Quality

  • Oversee facility-level supply chain, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Drive strong inventory control practices and transactional accuracy through disciplined cycle counting and annual physical inventory processes.
  • Ensure a robust quality management system that upholds customer, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization.

Change & Turnaround Leadership

  • Drive meaningful operational change in a turnaround or high-complexity environment.
  • Instill new processes, accountability, and results-driven thinking throughout the organization.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing team.
  • Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively with unionized labor, fostering collaboration and respect while driving engagement and operational excellence.

EH&S & Compliance

  • Integrate environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) practices into operations.
  • Ensure all operations meet company goals and compliance requirements.
Qualifications

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
  • Multi-site operations experience strongly preferred. While this role is Franklin-focused, the ideal candidate has led operations across more than one facility and understands how to build and standardize processes that could scale beyond a single site.
  • Proven success aligning operational strategies with business objectives and driving measurable results.
  • Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 80/20 methodology, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong track record of leading operational turnarounds, factory transformations, or restructuring initiatives, with specific focus on improving yields, on-time delivery (OTD), process stability, and overall scrap reduction.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) to enhance operational performance. Direct experience with Infor SyteLine (CSI) is preferred.
