Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

An important part of our leadership team, this position serves as the primary point of contact for all government related activities with a focus on developing and managing the Federal (USAF) current contract and upcoming renewal process. In addition, this person will serve as the lead on our Sourcewell contract relationships and grant management to support our R&D and business growth initiatives. We are in growth mode and seek an entrepreneurial mindset with an excellent track record who seeks a high impact role.

BUSINESS IMPACT:

  • Lead all Government Relationships and Strategic Positioning - Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Business Development – Develop and execute business development strategies to expand market presence within federal, state, and local government aviation agencies.
  • Drive Growth Through Strategic Funding Acquisition - Identify and secure potential funding opportunities by leading grant research and proposal development efforts, with the goal of increasing awarded funding and expanding organizational programs and revenue streams.

PRIMARY FOCUS:

Government & Contract Management

  • Manage and administer government contracts at the federal, state, and municipal levels.
  • Specifically manage DoD contracts, FAR and DFAR acquisition regulations, and international contract terms. Manage and update Government database, e.g. SAM, CPARs.
  • Maintain, update, and negotiate customer and supplier terms and conditions, including incorporation and administration of applicable prime contract flow-down requirements.
  • Lead the end-to-end Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Qualifications (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) process, including opportunity evaluation, proposal development, pricing strategy, and submission.

Business Development & Strategy

  • Monitor government procurement portals and industry forecasts to identify upcoming contract opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, government meetings, and aviation events to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, procurement officials, airport authorities, and aviation stakeholders to promote long-term business growth.

Grants & Funding Development

  • Research and identify new government grant opportunities, cooperative agreements, and public funding resources.
  • Monitor funding announcements from federal, state, county, and municipal agencies.
  • Coordinate proposal development, application submissions, and support documentation coordinating communication and managing reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with leadership and appropriate teams to develop funding strategies and project narratives.

WE SEEK:

  • US Armed Forces Veteran highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Experience with SAM.gov, Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), Grants.gov, and state procurement portals.
  • Demonstrated success managing government relationships within the DoD, contracts, grants, and/or public funding programs.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and contract/grant management systems.
