Description
Are you looking for a firm that is committed to your professional growth and success? Do you have an interest in international tax work in the real estate area? We are currently seeking a full-time Real Estate Tax Manager to join our team in our Atlanta, GA office.
As Tax Manager, you will work with a select team providing tax services to predominantly German private equity companies and individuals that invest in US commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate assets. To be successful in this role, you must be able to manage projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. You must be organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
Workplace:
This role is primarily on-site, and candidates who can work from the office are strongly preferred. Hybrid arrangements may be considered. Please note that fully remote applicants will not be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
  • Review Federal and state, primarily partnership and individual non-resident income tax returns
  • Manage team members and projects to ensure compliance with tax deadlines
  • Perform technical tax research on a variety of Federal and state tax topics
  • Maintain active communication to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
  • Assist in staff development, and provide training and learning experiences
  • Effectively delegate and oversee the work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, and removing obstacles
  • Team with partners and senior personnel on proposals and business development opportunities
  • Provide timely training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff associates

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional Federal and state income tax experience, including experience in public accounting
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing partnership and individual tax returns
  • Income tax return review experience
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills in English
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • CPA license or similar certification

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 6-7 years in preparing and reviewing returns for private equity companies that invest in US commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate assets
  • Experience in taxation of real estate investments and projects
  • ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience
  • Experience reviewing partnership and individual tax returns
  • Performing technical research on real estate tax topics
