elliestyled is a leading event design, planning, rentals and production company, nestled in the vibrant community of Highland Park, IL. Proudly serving the Northshore and Chicagoland area, our dedicated and detail oriented team specializes in event planning and styling. We excel in creating on trend yet approachable experiences for weddings, home gatherings, birthdays, and intimate dinner parties. At elliestyled, we offer a wide range of services, including event planning, event rentals, decor, and styling services. elliestyled operates out of our studio and event venue Atelier by elliestyled in downtown Highland Park.

Role Overview:

The Event Designer is a client facing and creative position responsible for guiding clients from initial inquiry through design execution. Balancing sales driven communication with thoughtful design implementation, this role works closely with the creative director and oversees event preparation, styling, and onsite execution.


This is a dynamic, fast paced position ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys hands on creative work, and values collaboration with clients, vendors, and teammates.


Responsibilities:

Client Facing & Sales:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients
  • Take inquiry calls, share our services, and explain the booking process
  • Schedule and lead consultations and site visits
  • Convert inquiries into booked clients and secure signed agreements
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding design, timelines, and project updates


Event Conceptualization & Design:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into cohesive design plans using tools such as Canva, Pinterest, and other social media or design platforms.
  • Create moodboards, design plans, and event concepts in a timely, organized manner
  • Stay current on trends and implement innovative design ideas


Team Leadership & Coordination:

  • Lead and supervise a team of assistants and vendors
  • Foster a productive, collaborative team environment
  • Coordinate logistics, including ordering and tracking materials for events
  • Oversee preparation, packing, installation, and styling of events


Onsite Event Management:

  • Be present onsite to lead the full event production
  • Ensure smooth execution from setup through teardown
  • Collaborate closely with the creative director to maintain brand and design alignment



Qualifications:

Required:

  • Previous experience in event coordination, design, or related fields
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for design and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle


Optional / Preferred:

  • Degree or certification in event management, design, or a related field
  • Portfolio showcasing relevant event and design work, with explanations of your role and contributions
  • Additional skills or experience in floral design, styling, or client relations
