EVENT CAPTAIN
Winthrop Center Boston | Boston, MA | Full-Time / Part-Time


Lead exceptional events at one of Boston’s most exciting culinary destinations.

Chef John Fraser leads the culinary program at Winthrop Center, a 691-foot, globally sustainable mixed-use tower in the heart of downtown Boston. The property brings together exceptional food, hospitality, and experiences across multiple distinctive dining concepts.

We’re looking for an experienced Event Captain to lead private event service and ensure every detail reflects the JF Restaurants standard of exceptional hospitality.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead event teams through setup, service, and breakdown
  • Serve as the key liaison between clients, management, service teams, and the kitchen
  • Ensure events are executed according to the BEO and client expectations
  • Lead the team through polished, efficient steps of service
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of food, beverage, ingredients, and preparation
  • Anticipate guest needs and maintain clear communication throughout service
  • Maintain exceptional presentation, cleanliness, and organization
  • Close checks accurately according to BEO requirements, revenue centers, and tip pools
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3+ years of hospitality or service experience, preferably in events or a similar upscale environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Ability to confidently guide and motivate a service team
  • Professional, polished, and guest-focused approach
  • English fluency
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
