Director of Retail and CPG Strategy 2026 - US

Aimpoint Digital

Atlanta, GA • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

Aimpoint Digital is a boutique leader in applied AI, data, analytics, and operations research. We partner with organizations to build decision intelligence systems that drive measurable business outcomes-across merchandising, supply chain, pricing, and customer engagement.

As we scale, we are investing deeply in Retail and CPG domain expertise; not just to advise, but to fundamentally reshape how decisions and work are executed across the value chain.

We are hiring a Director of Retail & CPG Strategy who brings a consultative mindset, operator-level intuition, strong thought leadership, and technical curiosity. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, data, and AI-enabled execution.

What You Will Do

- Develop domain-specific thought leadership and originate high-impact AI use cases and solution accelerators (e.g., pricing optimization frameworks, assortment decision engines, inventory positioning models), translating repeatable client needs into scalable offerings and IP

- Provide thought and execution leadership across enterprise Retail and CPG engagements -from problem framing and economic modeling through solution deployment and adoption

- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders (Chief Merchants, Chief Digital Officers, Supply Chain leaders), grounding recommendations in retail economics and operational reality

- Work alongside our decision sciences and engineering teams to design and deploy AI-enabled decision systems across merchandising, pricing, supply chain, and customer facing domains

- Drive operationalization of insights from work product development to embed intelligence into workflows, systems, and decision cadences

- Mentor team members and support client relationship growth

- Contribute to business development through solution shaping and thought leadership

You will help clients answer questions like:

- What does "agentic commerce" actually look like in practice, and how do we enable AI agents to transact on behalf of customers while respecting inventory constraints, pricing logic, and fulfillment economics?

- Why did my promo drive volume but destroy margin?

- Where should I place inventory to maximize service and minimize working capital?

- How do I balance sell-through, margin, and weeks of supply?

- Why does personalization plateau-and how do we connect it to real decisions?

Who We Are Looking For

- 5+ years of consulting or industry experience in Retail or CPG

- Deep understanding of retail and CPG economics (sell-through, GMROI, pricing, promotions, assortment)

- Strong grasp of omnichannel environments (eCommerce, stores, fulfillment tradeoffs)

- Familiarity with enterprise systems (SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, etc.)

- Ability to bridge business and technical teams

- Proven ability to drive adoption-not just analysis

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Experience with AI/ML and analytics in Retail/CPG preferred

Why Aimpoint

We focus on outcomes over deliverables, combine advisory with solution engineering, and help clients operationalize AI-driven decision making. Our team exhibits market leading growth, delivery excellence, and solution engineering expertise, and we are consistently called upon to work on the most challenging and complex engagements that Global enterprises have to solve to remain competitive and operable.

We are actively seeking candidates for full-time, remote work within the US. Atlanta-based applicants will have the opportunity to work in our headquarters in Sandy Springs, GA.
