Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Department of Theatre & Performance Studies is bursting with unique opportunities that nurture future artists, scholars, and creative entrepreneurs both on and off the stage. Our Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre and performance studies is one of a kind. We give majors a wide range of experiences while focusing on one of four comprehensive concentrations: acting, design and technology, musical theater, and performance studies. We teach students how to make the art they dream of and why the history and culture surrounding that art is important. This reflects our wholehearted commitment to the scholar-artist framework, connecting and integrating practice and theory.
We complement our stunning mainstage musicals, classic plays, and cutting-edge new work with a wide array of performance forms from storytelling and improv comedy to puppetry and poetry.
With a variety of offerings, all eager theatre makers can find a place to flourish in our program. Our reputation for excellence has led to numerous relationships with professional theaters and community partners. These relationships give our students the chance to integrate what they learn on campus to work in the world outside the classroom. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies for the academic year 2026-2027. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in Theatre and/or Performance Studies (disciplines including acting, design, technology, history, theory, musical theatre, performance studies, or others as needed)

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Theatre/Performance Studies or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR
  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years collegiate and/or professional teaching experience, along with an established record of professional experience in the field.
