ISK Americas Incorporated is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Director of Compliance, this position is responsible for managing export logistics activities for ISK Americas and its subsidiaries while also serving as a backup resource for import operations as needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional with experience in international shipping, import/export compliance, hazardous materials transportation, and supply chain coordination.

Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator will oversee export shipment activities, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods while coordinating with freight forwarders, manufacturing facilities, internal stakeholders, and transportation providers. The successful candidate will also assist with import operations and maintain compliance with applicable transportation and trade regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

Export Logistics

  • Manage export shipment processes in coordination with freight forwarders.
  • Arrange domestic transportation and trucking services.
  • Review purchase orders and communicate shipment requirements to manufacturing facilities.
  • Prepare export documentation, including:
    • Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI)
    • Inland Bills of Lading
    • Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGD)
    • Commercial Invoices
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate for timely shipment processing.
  • Coordinate activities among freight forwarders, supply chain personnel, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Monitor freight movement and shipment status.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues.
  • Communicate key shipment milestones and updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain required shipping and compliance records.
  • Maintain training and compliance status related to hazardous materials regulations, including:
    • DOT (49 CFR)
    • IMDG
    • IATA

Import Logistics Support

As needed, provide support for import activities by:

  • Coordinating import shipments with overseas suppliers and customs brokers.
  • Preparing import-related documentation and notifications.
  • Reviewing shipping documentation for import compliance.
  • Providing import instructions to customs brokers.
  • Monitoring import clearance, government agency releases, and final delivery.
  • Reviewing entry declarations for accuracy, valuation, duty mitigation, and preferential trade treatment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience preparing export documentation.
  • Experience handling import and export shipments.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10) years of logistics, import/export, or trade compliance experience in a regulated industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
  • Experience managing hazardous materials shipments under DOT, IMDG, and IATA regulations.
  • SAP experience.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand Spanish.
