Trade Compliance Specialist

Contract Duration: 6–12 Months
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM Start
Pay Rate: $35.00 – $42.00 per hour (W-2 only)

Position Overview

Seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to manage import and export processes for U.S. export-controlled goods (EAR and ITAR). The role ensures all international shipments meet federal, customs, and local regulatory requirements while supporting operational efficiency and compliance across departments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage import/export clearance processes and documentation.

  • Prepare and submit Electronic Export Information (EEI) via the ACE portal.

  • Classify items using HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN codes from top-level assemblies to components.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all customs and trade-related transactions.

  • Partner with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other trade compliance stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate and complete import/export transaction records and audit customs entries (Form 7501).

  • Support trade compliance reviews and assist in determining jurisdiction and product classification (HTS, USML, ECCN).

  • Track license utilization, monitor shipments, and resolve issues during transit.

  • Assist with MRO team shipments (9801 U.S. Goods returns).

  • Ensure compliance with FDA, EAR, ITAR, and OFAC regulations.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with U.S. import/export regulations and operations.

  • Experience preparing and submitting EEI filings and working with the ACE portal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be eligible to obtain a DOD security clearance.

  • U.S. Citizenship is required (no exceptions).
