Currently we have a Logistics Specialist role open on 1st shift. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the selection of modes and methods of domestic/international transportation in order to assure timely delivery of inbound and outbound freight at optimum cost for customers and company. Monitor and maintain compliance with all domestic and international rules and regulations pertaining to shipment of parts and whole goods, domestic/international parts shipment as well as coordinating the operation of offsite port facilities.
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for services performed by contract personnel operating port facilities that store and handle Link-Belt equipment
  • Route and rate domestic/international machine or parts shipments while following the international rules, terms, trade practices that are used in contract or terms of sales
  • Prepare all international freight quotations, both ocean and air, that will provide the best cost measures and methods in shipping parts and whole goods
  • Negotiate yearly or multi-year contracts with all freight forwarders and customs' brokers. Evaluate freight forwarder strengths. Monitor paperwork to insure all international regulations and requirements are in compliance
  • Prepare yearly or multi-year competitive bid package on imported machine and parts, both ocean and air
  • Maintain international air freight program for Link-Belt international distributors with door to door cost and service concept
  • Responsible for monthly Marine Insurance Reports. Coordinate the claims process for product that is damaged and submission of claims for reimbursement of repairs and damages
  • Responsible for coordinating custom clearance and expediting with US Customs or Brokers to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Work with Link-Belt Crane personnel, steamship lines and forwarding companies, providing detailed and accurate information in a timely manner on all shipments of whole goods and manufacturing parts to ensure schedules are met
  • Responsible for the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classification Database and Schedule B Classification on all parts.

General qualifications for this role:
  • 4 year degree preferably in Logistics or Business
  • Five (5) years' experience in transportation/logistics experience. Heavy haul experience helpful.
