Job description

Job Description
Project Manager Pay Range: $75/hour to $80/hour Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution phase of a large-scale, multi-site enterprise wireless infrastructure deployment across hospital and clinical facilities. This role will be responsible for coordinating the remaining deployment activities, managing field vendors and contractors, aligning with facilities and clinical stakeholders, and ensuring project execution with minimal disruption to healthcare operations.
The ideal candidate is a strong deployment and operations leader with experience managing complex enterprise IT infrastructure projects across multiple locations. Deep wireless engineering expertise is not required; the primary focus is project execution, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, vendor management, risk mitigation, and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead execution of a large-scale, multi-site enterprise wireless infrastructure deployment.
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, dependencies, resource allocation, and deployment sequencing across multiple facilities.
  • Coordinate with facilities, construction, building maintenance, security, environmental services, and site operations teams to support installation activities.
  • Manage access requirements, ceiling access, lift access, construction schedules, maintenance windows, and after-hours work.
  • Coordinate cabling contractors, installation vendors, field services teams, and equipment logistics.
  • Partner with hospital departments, clinical leadership, IT operations, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to minimize operational disruption.
  • Track installation progress, site readiness, vendor deliverables, dependencies, and project milestones.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to scheduling conflicts, construction delays, supply chain issues, site access, operational constraints, and vendor performance.
  • Facilitate communication and issue resolution across technical teams, facilities, contractors, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentation, status reports, milestone tracking, risk registers, issue logs, and executive dashboards.
  • Provide accurate and timely project updates to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate site acceptance, validation activities, punch-list resolution, and project closeout.
  • Support successful delivery within approved schedule, budget, quality, and operational requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure deployment or technology implementation projects.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-site deployments involving hundreds or thousands of field assets.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating projects in hospitals, healthcare facilities, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, cabling providers, installation teams, and field services organizations.
  • Experience coordinating facilities-related activities, including ceiling access, construction schedules, lift access, building maintenance, and after-hours work.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical, operational, facilities, and executive audiences.
  • Experience managing phased deployments, maintenance windows, resource allocation, scheduling dependencies, and site readiness.
  • Proven ability to identify, track, mitigate, and escalate project risks and issues.
  • Experience producing project status reports, milestone tracking, risk registers, issue logs, and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders across geographically dispersed sites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading enterprise wireless refresh or wireless infrastructure deployment projects.
  • Experience with healthcare IT infrastructure deployments.
  • Experience coordinating hospital construction, renovation, or facilities activities.
  • Experience managing structured cabling projects.
  • Experience managing multi-vendor field services and installation teams.
  • Experience with campus-wide or multi-site technology implementations.
  • Experience taking over and stabilizing an active project already in execution.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
The Project Manager is not expected to perform wireless engineering or network design work but should have a working understanding of:
  • Enterprise Wi-Fi deployment lifecycles.
  • Wireless access point installation workflows.
  • Cisco Catalyst Center or equivalent wireless/network management platforms.
  • Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers or equivalent wireless infrastructure.
  • Structured cabling standards and installation processes.
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) requirements.
  • Wireless validation and acceptance testing.
  • Technology cutover and rollback processes.
Project Management Focus Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring:
  • Deployment activities remain on schedule.
  • Clinical and business operations experience minimal disruption.
  • Vendor and contractor milestones are achieved.
  • Facilities coordination does not delay deployment activities.
  • Installation quality aligns with approved design and project requirements.
  • Risks, issues, and dependencies are actively managed and resolved.
  • Executive reporting is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Project delivery remains aligned with approved budget and schedule.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on project execution leader with experience managing complex enterprise infrastructure deployments in operationally sensitive environments. Success in this role depends on effectively coordinating facilities teams, contractors, vendors, hospital departments, technical teams, and leadership to complete a large-scale deployment efficiently and with minimal impact to patient care and clinical operations.
Experience managing large-scale, multi-site healthcare infrastructure projects and field deployments is more important than deep Cisco wireless engineering expertise.
