Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Pleasanton, CA  (100% Onsite)

 Manager is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering/Project Management. Successful candidates so far have had a Manufacturing Engineering (ME) background but have transitioned into Project/Program Management.

 Within the Operations department, the candidate will manage and direct the activities and cross-functional teams associated with transfer-to-manufacturing projects.

Key Responsibilities & Activities
  • Together with cross-functional stakeholders:
    • Define work packages for design transfer to manufacturing in compliance with internal and external procedures and regulations.
    • Estimate the time and cost associated with design transfer work packages.
  • Coordinate and synchronize activities with cross-site Program Management, R&D, Supply Chain, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, OPEX, and Finance.
  • Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) following industry best practices.
  • Prepare and execute plans to set up and qualify new production lines.
  • Define and implement the necessary manufacturing processes to ensure the availability of components, resources, tools, equipment, and high-quality product delivery.
  • Perform risk analysis, reporting, risk review boards, and define and implement mitigation actions.
  • Establish effective communication across teams to ensure commitments, timelines, and project milestones are met while resolving issues proactively.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure the timeline, cost, and quality of design transfer projects.
  • Manufacturing Engineering background with career progression into Project/Program Management.
  • Strong experience leading transfer-to-manufacturing (design transfer) projects.
  • Experience setting up manufacturing processes and qualifying new production lines for hardware products.
  • Experience managing 20+ cross-functional team members (project leadership only; direct people management is not required).
  • Experience with Class III Medical Devices is highly preferred.
Candidate Profile & Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in the creation and industrialization of new products.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Medical Device (Med-Tech) or Pharmaceutical industry, with strong knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, MDR, and GMP regulations.
  • Extensive experience managing cross-functional and multi-site projects.
