Job description

Job Summary

Management-level position responsible for analyzing and directing IT related activities of the organizations with supervisory responsibilities for staff assigned. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity of computer users throughout the organization through planning, technical leadership, and project coordination. Participates in evaluating performance of staff under their supervision. Responsible for assisting in development of budget, meeting budget goals and developing application policies as needed. Participates in evaluating performance of associates under their supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to perform the duties and responsibility of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations for disabilities. 
  • The ability to consistently lift, push or pull loads of up to fifty (50) pounds. (Unless nursing 50)

Working Conditions

Primarily Works in a well-lighted and air-conditioned environment with period of heavy workload and stress. Resource Utilization: Consistently utilizes and maintains supplies and equipment to minimize lost charges and unnecessary equipment repair-replacement.

Confidentiality: Adheres to established policies on privacy and security requirements for compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), as applicable by Shannon Policy.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required

    • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent 

  • Preferred

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or related field 

Experience:

  • Required

    • Two to four years of experience in Epic Software/Domain/Workflow analysis design/HER Application 

    • Two to four years of experience in clinical workflow, practice standards and documentation 

    • Two to four years of Epic Analyst experience 

  • Preferred

    • Two to four years of experience in a Healthcare setting 

    • Two years of experience in a Supervisory or Management role 

Certification/Licensure:

  • Required

    • Epic Certification

      • Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date 

  • Preferred

    • Registered Nurse (RN), with authorization to practice in the State of Texas 

    • Registered Pharmacist (RPH)/PharmD, with authorization to practice in the State of Texas 

    • Membership in a Professional Organization

    • Certification in Related Clinical Field 

Supervises the Following Positions

Positions: Analysts within area of focus 

Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions

  • Demonstrates ability to represent Information Technology in a respectful and professional manner. Understands the interconnectivity and integration within Information Technology and third-party vendors. Notifies leadership of any outages, problems, or delays. 

  • Provides clear and precise written and oral information to members of the team; provides clear and timely information to the CIO/EMR Director. Participate in communications with departments outside IT. 

  • Coaches, mentors and grows the technical talent pool with the department; reads, understands, and administers department and organizational policy. Serves as member of various committees to discuss workflow, system needs and changes. Responsible for disciplinary verbal coaching as well as written counseling as needed with associates. 

  • Attends IT Management Meetings; accepts high-level assignments from CIO/EMR Director as directed; assigns low-level duties to associates, monitors their progress (using checkpoints); reports the team's progress to the CIO/EMR Director as directed. Serves as back-up to areas of responsibility as appropriate.

  • Participates in planning financial information as directed by the CIO/EMR Director; manages sub-accounts within the cost center; assists in preparing first level operating and capital budgets as directed by the CIO/EMR Director; reports any financial improprieties to the CIO/EMR Director. 

  • Assigns all tasks to members of the team in a methodical manner; prepares timelines for members of the team; holds regular and ad hoc meetings with the team; writes appropriate status reports in a timely fashion. Executes necessary investigation, analysis and evaluation to determine project feasibility and develops project scope. 

  • Coaches, mentors, and grows the technical talent pool within the department; reads, understands, and administers department and organizational policy; Participates in setting and developing policy; Demonstrates excellent leadership skills.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
