Job description

Overview
The Education Technical Assistance Specialist will provide high quality training and technical assistance to early childhood care and education providers and teachers enrolled as participants in CASSI community programs and research studies. This role supports a multi-year, implementation science-driven initiative delivering tiered professional development, coaching, and consultation to strengthen classroom practice and build sustainable systems within public school systems. The incumbent will conduct classroom observations, identify professional development goals in collaboration with early childhood teachers, identify and deliver evidence-based strategies and interventions, provide consultation and coaching to teachers, deliver trainings and workshops, and evaluate program outcomes through assessment and progress monitoring. This position may take on additional responsibilities such as project coordination, material and resource development/preparation, and data coding and/or analysis.
This position is primarily based in Delaware County, PA and will also require time in Baltimore, MD. During the screening process, candidates will learn more about the locations and schedule.
Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with early childhood teachers and providers to identify professional development goals.
  2. Conduct classroom observations in early childhood settings to gather baseline and progress data and to inform the delivery of training and technical assistance.
  3. Identify evidence-based early childhood strategies and practices to target areas of need, both reported and observed, in classrooms.
  4. Deliver synchronous and asynchronous coaching/consultation to teachers in both classroom-based and virtual formats.
  5. Gather quantitative and qualitative data according to protocol and track completion of data collection. Complete data entry as needed.
  6. Conduct professional development trainings and workshops for early childhood educators.
  7. Facilitate and/or participate in communities of practice for teacher participants.
  8. Assist in the development and implementation of instructional kits for teachers and families.
  9. Maintain appropriate coaching logs and progress monitoring data.
  10. Participate in weekly team meetings with project staff to report on progress and barriers.

Qualifications
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  1. Must be available to work outside of normally scheduled working hours, as needed.
  2. Must be physically present at the assigned job site.
  3. This position is based within Kennedy Krieger (Baltimore, Maryland) and requires regular travel to Pennsylvania to provide on-site services. Candidates may be based in Maryland, Delaware or Pennsylvania.
  4. Must have access to reliable transportation as needed to fulfil job duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possession of field-appropriate clinical licensure or educational certification (e.g., board certified behavior analyst/BCBA, school psychologist, special education teacher, speech-language pathologist) preferred.

EDUCATION:
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Speech Language Pathology, Psychology, or a related education, allied health, or human services field required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Five years of experience in early childhood teaching, coaching, and/or mentoring of teachers required.
  • Experience working with families of young children to support engagement and involvement across home and school environments is highly preferred.
  • Experience in educational leadership or supervision is highly preferred.

Minimum pay range
USD $27.47/Hr.
Maximum pay range
USD $47.74/Hr.
