Job Description

GDIT's military health team is hiring a Dissemination and Implementation Specialist (Warfighter Brain Health) to support the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) at HQ in Silver Spring, MD.

Position Summary:

The Implementation Specialist will work with TBI CoE in order to ensure the efficient and effective implementation of its products throughout the MHS. They are responsible for coordinating with research, clinical and educational SMEs to develop strategies to optimally research, disseminate and implement state of the science recommendations and other valid clinical practices for TBI care across the MHS.

The candidate will plan and participate in the identification, collection, analyses and presentation of key dissemination and implementation findings. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic implementation plans for TBICoE products.

They will present recommendations to the Government on how to improve the research, dissemination and

implementation of clinical best practices. Under the guidance of the government oversight, s/he will work with regulatory bodies, and support protocol development and management as required for dissemination and implementation efforts.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Develop strategic implementation and dissemination plans, including metrics and goals for the effective translation of clinical and educational products into the MHS system. The strategic plan will span the entire spectrum of products from research to the development of clinical recommendations and must include realistic, actionable and quantitative processes. The plan must be scalable to cover multiple markets in order to drive consistent implementation of products throughout the MHS in order to improve patient outcomes. The plan must include steps to ensure the product is tracked from research, development of clinical recommendations through the launch to full market implementation or handoff to other entities responsible for final implementation. Finally, the plan must include a feedback mechanism from the market back to the development team to foster further innovation and address unknown gaps or unforeseen needs.
  • Assist with the execution of the implementation plans for TBI clinical and educational products across the MHS.
  • Plans for the appropriate levels of service and operational support required during the implementation process by recommending clear guidelines, rules of engagement, and roles and responsibilities for implementation success.
  • Prepares and actively participate in the development of the implementation of project plans, scope, schedule, monitoring of timelines, internal and external workgroup meetings, project team meetings and implementation status reports to ensure compliance. This includes the development and coordination of system wide metrics that strive to improve the efficacy of the care being provided throughout the MHS.
  • Provide implementation project management, training, and support throughout the implantation plan for clinical and/or educational projects.
  • Assist in the training of TBICoE personnel on implementation science and processes.
  • Identify and assist with the development of opportunities to collaborate with the DoW, DHA, Veterans Administration, and civilian partners. Monitor and assess qualitative measures of TBI care, clinical practice guideline usage, support TBICoE, including its senior leadership in a consultative and advisory role on HQ initiatives, site evaluations, and assist in formulating solutions to HQ and network related issues.
  • May supervise their administrative staff working on identified projects.

What Youll Need (required):

  • Doctorate level degree with a concentration in implementation science or other similar degree required OR, with government approval, a masters level degree with a concentration in Healthcare implementation science or other similar degree may be accepted in lieu of the doctorate level degree.
  • 5+ years of implementation science related work required.
  • Experience in managing and overseeing a national level dissemination and implementation project from cradle to the grave.

What Would Be Even Better (preferred):

  • Experience in DoW/military/VA health settings preferred.
  • Additional training in the area of project management and PMP certification preferred.

The likely salary range for this position is $124,093 - $129,766. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
