Job description

The OSP Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and execution of outside plant (OSP) fiber and copper network construction projects. This role oversees project planning, field construction, permitting, vendor management, budgeting, and quality assurance to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and on budget. The OSP Project Manager collaborates closely with Engineering, Construction, Operations, and external contractors to deliver high-quality network infrastructure in support of Hotwire Communications' growth objectives.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all phases of OSP construction projects including aerial, underground, and buried fiber installations.
  • Coordinate with internal design, engineering, permitting, and construction teams to ensure project alignment and milestone achievement.
  • Manage contractor activities including onboarding, quality control, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, resource plans, and schedules based on engineering designs.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to mitigate schedule delays or cost overruns.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including daily reports, field notes, permits, and billing support.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds Hotwire Communications' quality standards, industry codes, and local permitting requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and municipalities, property managers, utility owners, and other stakeholders for project coordination.
  • Lead regular project meetings with contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Conduct site walks and inspections to verify construction practices, safety compliance, and project specifications.
  • Manage project closeout, including redlines, as-builts, final inspections, and handover to Operations.
  • Support budget forecasting and cost control activities for assigned projects.
  • Provide weekly project updates and reports to senior management.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience managing OSP fiber and copper construction projects
• Strong understanding of aerial, buried, and underground telecommunications infrastructure
• Experience with permitting processes, utility coordination, and local regulations
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite
• PMP certification or similar project management certification is a plus
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
