Project Manager
Job Summary: A Project Manager is responsible for the planning, procurement, execution and completion of a project from kickoff to completion. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed in timely fashion, at times this may require extra time at a job site or multiple site visits. Requires close collaboration with engineering staff during the design process to make sure all engineering tasks are being completed within compliance of the scope of work (SOW). Working with the customer to provide timely updates to project timeline, project status, parts availability and manpower. At the completion of a job, this individual will be responsible for making sure all job documentation is completed and ready to submit to the customer when asked.
Experience: Has development of management ideas and principles. Understands the scope of work and how to implement a strong engineering solution. Has subject matter expertise on multiple components. Has a strong understanding of all products commonly used, as well as, ability to learn and understand new products quickly.
Job Expectations: Project Managers are to conduct themselves as leaders to influence, motivate, and direct others within engineering and to strategize, plan, organize, control, and develop. Working with the Engineering manager to make sure that project is properly staffed per SOW and budgeted price.
Responsibilities: Project Managers must be able to make decisions without constant direction. This will apply to (but not limited to) hours worked to complete tasks, schedule changes, and scope changes. Participates in all PM meetings and site visits as it relates to the job. Work with the sales department to ensure that any/all change orders are captured. Manage and oversee any outside contractors that might be on the project, this could include invoicing, engineering, commissioning and standby support. Be able to assist on a project in any capacity to make sure of total completion.
Basic Qualifications:
• Lead a team of control engineers, design engineers, and other professionals, to develop and implement control systems that deliver and meet operational requirements.
• Create and implement debug/testing plans.
• Scheduling panel builds and shipments with the shop.
• Experience with management tools, MS Project, MS Escel
• Ability to develop/maintain engineering and commissioning schedules.
• Identify and evaluate risks and impacts within project schedules, and the ability to mitigate risks with PM team.
• Directs and coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design, production, and safety requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience with design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of control systems.
• Experience with process control and batching systems.
• A solid understanding of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, process flow diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to develop safety-critical control architecture, network architecture, and programs for conveyor and motion systems that deliver high reliability.
