The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG) within JOID provides technical, programmatic and analytical support to customers with missions in national security to include the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Group brings technical and operational expertise in fields of countering weapons of mass destruction, critical infrastructure protection, emergency response, nuclear non-proliferation, weapons deployment programs, and transportation safety. In addition to management and advisory services, CIG staff collaborate closely with our clients to provide high-quality modeling, simulation, software, and analytical products to meet the most demanding government standards and timelines.
We have an upcoming need for a Sr. Implementation Engineer to provide hybrid support out of Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
The candidate will perform a wide variety of implementation-related engineering tasks for government clients in the aviation industry. Provide senior-level knowledge for the development and execution of multiple aviation-related hardware systems. Participate in the complete engineering lifecycle of a new/enhanced system upgrades including development, design, test, implementation, and disposition. Actively contribute and engage with team members and external stakeholders in the installation/test of numerous air traffic/aviation-related efforts. Provide engineering-specific expertise to various acquisition and programmatic artifacts. Actively participate in technical working groups with engineering, budget, schedule, and acquisition functional team members. Manage customer relationships and expectations. Work effectively on individual tasks as well as a contributing team member.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Public Trust clearance
  • 15+ years of experience in government implementation engineering roles
  • Master's degree; focus in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Information Systems, or Information Technology preferred
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other MS Products
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong organizational background in gathering and interpreting information from multiple sources
  • Experience working on Federal Aviation Administration programs
  • Prior active involvement working onsite as a implementation engineer on aviation efforts
