How much do implementation consultant jobs pay per year?
What is an implementation consultant?
An implementation consultant is a third-party contractor brought in by companies to manage a large-scale project. As an implementation consultant, you are not only responsible for managing the project team members, but also developing the strategies needed to reach the end goal. These types of projects are typically special projects that affect a significant portion of the company and therefore deserve extra attention. While exact duties vary from job to job, your responsibilities may include project management, task scheduling, task coordination, and communication planning. Common implementation projects include wide-scale organizational changes, imparting and applying new government regulations, and rolling out new software application systems. Implementation consultants may also be called upon to review, evaluate, and carry out company policies and procedures. While experience in the specific industry is always beneficial, management skills of any kind can help you succeed in this career.

What is the difference between Implementation Consultant vs Business Analyst?
| Aspect | Implementation Consultant | Business Analyst |
|---|---|---|
| Credentials | Typically requires certifications like PMP, relevant industry experience | Often holds a degree in business, IT, or related fields; certifications like CBAP are common |
| Work Environment | Works closely with clients during software or system deployment | Analyzes business needs, documents requirements, and recommends solutions |
| Employer & Industry Usage | Used in consulting firms, software companies, and tech industries | Common across various industries including finance, healthcare, and IT |
While both roles involve working with technology and clients, Implementation Consultants focus on deploying and configuring solutions, whereas Business Analysts concentrate on understanding business needs and defining requirements. Both roles are essential in project success but serve different stages of the implementation process.

- Partner with the Behavioral Health Administrator to ensure staff receive appropriate onboarding, orientation, ongoing education, and professional development. Monitor licensure, certification, credentialing, and continuing education requirements to maintain compliance with organizational, regulatory, and payer standards.
- Monitor referral workflows to promote timely, equitable access to mental health and psychiatric services and reduce barriers to care.
- Ensure the psychiatry team consistently deliver integrated, whole-person care through collaboration with primary care providers and care teams, including behavioral health screening, assessment, counseling, consultation, referrals, care coordination, and follow-up services.
- Provide or coordinate required clinical supervision for pre-licensed mental health providers in accordance with applicable licensing board requirements. Ensure supervision, documentation, billing practices, and clinical services comply with licensure regulations, OHA, HRSA, payer requirements, and WCHC policies.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, employee engagement, corrective action, and staff development in collaboration with the Behavioral Health Administrator and Human Resources.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment that supports employee engagement, continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and WCHC's mission, vision, and values.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide direct outpatient psychiatry services, including diagnostic assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy, treatment planning, consultation, and care coordination, consistent with licensure and scope of practice.
