Job description

Job Title: Traditional Brazer
Location: Richmond, VA
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Industry: Industrial Machinery Manufacturing
Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 /hr.
Schedule: 40 hrs/Week. 
 
About the Opportunity:
  • The traditional brazing department is responsible for brazing metal pieces together using a brazing torch, following client specifications and information on the drawings.
  • Gather parts for building fins, casings, and hairpins.
  • Assembly and braze job to the specifications given in the drawing and work order.
  • Retrieve the coil from the WIP lane and place it on the table using the overhead lift based on the certified level.

What You'll Do:
  • Push the table to the brazing area.
  • Assemble return bends, headers, and distributors on the coil per the drawings.
  • Braze components to the coil per the client specifications and the information on the drawing.
  • Use of a brazing torch to braze material.
  • Collaborate with other employees on safety/quality/production/delivery.
  • Push or pull larger items, pallets, coils on carts.
  • ID & tag unsafe equipment.
  • Clean is to 5S standards.

What You'll Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrical assembly or electrical.
 
What Sets You Apart:
  • Ability to take on other duties or assist in other departments as department needs change.
  • Ability to accurately read drawings.
  • Able to see details at close range for long periods.
  • Possessing excellent manual dexterity & hand stability for precision & mirror work.
  • Team player.
  • Verbal communication skills.
  • Possess a basic understanding of math.
  • Able to follow the directions of a supervisor or lead.
  • Open to constructive criticism.
  • Possessing a positive attitude in the face of challenges.
  • Willing to understand the assembly of coils.
 
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check.
  • Able to safely lift to 50lbs unassisted.
  • Able to stand for long periods & stoop/bend frequently.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to walk to retrieve jobs from the table at least once an hour.
  • Able to walk to deliver jobs to the citric bath at least once an hour.
  • Able to lift to 25lbs for copper and 50lbs for steel headers.
  • Able to step up and down onto the table platform several times an hour.
  • Able to move wrist, arm, hand, and fingers in many directions.
