The Impact of a Principal Solution Architect at Coupa:

As a Principal Solution Architect your role will combine leading solution design within Coupa’s largest and most complex implementations and defining best practices within the Professional Services Center of Excellence (COE). Your main responsibilities will be to provide strategic guidance, knowledge transfer and best practices to the implementation teams. This role involves a combination of technical proficiency, problem‑solving skills, strong domain expertise and great interpersonal abilities to influence delivery, product and key customer stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead professional services projects with some of the largest companies in the world, as the design face (Solution Manager) with the objective of driving optimal design quality and maximum synergy across the Coupa suite
  • Perform a leading role within the Coupa Professional Services COE to drive enablement on functional and business process expertise and best practices across Coupa delivery teams
  • Work as a trusted advisor on Coupa implementation best practices with multiple teams in our organization across sales, services, customer success and product management
  • Conduct architectural design reviews on implementations to ensure quality in delivery from our and partner implementation teams
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures, templates and tools to enhance the quality of delivery team operations
  • Accountable for the overall design of customers implementations, advocating for industry & technology best practices
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers key stakeholders
  • Develop & coach talent, in and out of projects, in the consulting expectations to ensure the right skills mix to meet customer success
  • Collaborate with documentation and product management teams to share expertise in further developing content & product
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
  • 15+ years’ consulting experience in Procure-to-Pay and Source-to-Contract, either as part of a procurement organization or a consulting firm or software provider
  • Experience of managing a professional services team in the context of formal line management and/or managing global SaaS implementation projects
  • Candidates should have extremely strong client management skills and be able to work with customers to execute an implementation plan that works towards a rapid, successful go live
  • Experienced communicator and relationship builder, with strong executive and stakeholder management experience across regions and cultures.
  • Brings hands‑on experience in supporting pre‑sales, services scoping, and solutioning.
  • Deep understanding of project delivery methodologies and customer success principles.
  • Strategic thinker who challenges traditional models and innovates to achieve customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of processes and underlying technologies in Procurement and Finance domains (including inventory management, demand forecasting, purchasing, sourcing, contracting, invoicing and reporting, Supplier relationship management and Third Party Risk Management)
  • Experience implementing technology solutions in industries such as Healthcare, Retail, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Utilities and Oil & Gas)
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
  • Highly organized with the ability/experience to manage multiple priorities
  • Previous senior consulting experience with competing applications is a solid predictor of success e.g: Ariba, Ivalua, Jaegger, GEP
  • Experience in building a workshop plan which fits the scope at hand, developing materials, and facilitating workshops to achieve desired outcomes
  • Willingness to travel regionally and globally.

The estimated pay range for this role is $152,000 - $198,000

The starting salary for the successful candidate will be based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
