  Advertised Salary: $13.73   Summary of Position: The OIE Student Services Assistant supports the Office of International Education by helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for international students. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and promoting OIE events, creating educational and informational social media content, providing front desk customer service by answering phones and assisting visitors, and supporting the Immigration and Student Services Coordinator with various administrative and student service tasks. This position offers valuable experience in event planning, communication, customer service, and intercultural engagement.   Position Type: Student   Position Requirements: The applicant will be expected to have strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Must have ability to work with and adapt to diverse populations
The applicant must be creative, innovative, and student-centered
Ability to think critically and make decisions
As an individual who is responsible for driving on behalf of the university, a driving record check will be run pursuant to university policies. The individual will be required to sign an authorization to run a criminal history background and driving record check.   Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with planning and promoting Office of International Education (OIE) events
Create educational/informational social media content for OIE
Work at front desk of the OIE; answering phones and assisting student/staff visitors
Assist the Immigration & Student Services Coordinator on miscellaneous tasks
Serve as Orientation Leader (as needed)
Drive Ferris students to/from OIE events in university vehicle (as needed)
*Operates a university or personal vehicle safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
