Job description

Are you interested in the next generation of Space Force Remote Sensing capabilities? The SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) Business Unit (BU) is on the ground floor across the future remote sensing ecosystem for all orbital regimes (LEO, MEO, HEO, and GEO). We build, integrate, and operationally support our customers' emerging space-ground systems to include real-time data processing frameworks, sensor data processing, and data visualization. We are teamed with the most passionate companies in industry, dedicated to bringing best-of-breed capabilities to address our customers' most pressing needs.
We are looking for a Jr. Project Manager who is excited to apply their talents to our customers' challenging projects and one who will thrive in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is a recognized professional with hands-on expertise and an excellent understanding of project management and associated concepts. You will help manage multiple teams working within fast-paced environments delivering infrastructure and end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence.
Position is on-site in Boulder, CO 5 days per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Leadership
  • Serve as secondary point of contact to the customer

Program Management Support
  • Cost Report Development and Analysis
  • Contract Management including assisting with setup in financial management software, Mod reviews, Funding Runout tracking, EAC/VAC analysis
  • CDRL generation
  • Supporting Status and Customer Meetings
  • ROM and Proposal Support
  • Dependencies and Risk Support
  • Monthly Status Reports
  • Schedule Development

Program Startup Support
  • Support early phases of starting a program to establish appropriate infrastructure for the team and ensure contract compliance

People Leadership
  • Serve as people manager to SMX Space & Intelligence Business Unit employees on the programs supported

Required Skills & Experience
  • This position requires an active Interim DoD Secret Clearance. Clearance required: Active DoD Secret. Due to the clearance requirement, U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate must also participate in a background screen.
  • BS or advanced degree in Business Administration or another relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, program management, or finance roles (an advanced degree (eg: Masters, PhD) provides two years of experience)
  • Experience managing software development focused programs in the defense and aerospace fields, especially as a subcontractor
  • Excellent understanding of the full software development lifecycle on government programs
  • Experience with general Program Management tools such as MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with personnel management of 10 or more individuals
  • Excellent organization skills with exceptional attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing
  • Experience with CostPoint, FocusPoint, Salesforce, Greenhouse

The proposed salary for this position is:
$115,000-$135,000 USD
