Overview

A Senior Associate at Fragomen works in a dynamic and challenging environment focused on immigration.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the broader implications of business immigration legal points.
  • Display strategic business immigration knowledge, assuming the role of a strategic advisor to senior-level clients.
  • Oversee a portfolio of highโ€‘profile clients and manage quality and risk associated with new and existing business relationships.
  • Manage projects and immigration cases from end to end and take the lead on major client issues.
  • Allocate resources and responsibilities to ensure successful completion of projects and monitor performance to maintain high quality and growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maintain and strengthen relationships with clients within the team, office, and more broadly in collaboration with colleagues regionally and globally.
  • Anticipate market and regulatory changes and provide market intelligence to team and clients as a recognized technical expert internally and externally.
  • Lead continuous improvement processes for direct and/or indirect team, seeking and implementing opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes, products, or services.
  • Proactively identify and take part in business development opportunities and develop significant new business through client relationship building.
  • Manage or collaborate on pitch meetings, RFPs, and participate in client presentations.
  • Provide team-wide leadership and supervise Associates and other staff, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with firm protocols including file maintenance, record keeping, and use of firm technology.
  • Develop a network of relationships with colleagues across teams locally, regionally, and firmwide.
  • Mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) required.
  • Member of a U.S. State bar or Washington, D.C., bar association.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience at the Associate level.
  • Acknowledged expert in immigration law.
  • Prior team management experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fastโ€‘paced environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
