Key Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate crisis counseling to students and clients in distress, utilizing your skills to conduct thorough crisis interventions and assessments as necessary.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to support referrals via Maxient, keeping detailed and updated records in compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, confidential patient records, ensuring adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Facilitate training sessions, outreach initiatives, and professional development workshops for students, faculty, and staff on various mental health topics to foster a supportive environment.
  • Provide expert consultation to students and staff regarding mental health issues and best practices to effectively support those facing psychological challenges.
  • Plan, implement, and deliver targeted mental health services that encourage student well-being, academic performance, and retention, such as mental health outreach events.
  • Engage in individual and group counseling sessions, assessing and addressing a range of mental health and substance use issues in a sensitive and effective manner.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse population of students and young adults, addressing their unique mental health and substance abuse challenges. This role will require a strong commitment to understanding the factors influencing mental well-being in this demographic, including academic stressors, life transitions, and social pressures. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved patient outcomes and academic success.

Qualifications
  • A valid LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT license in California is necessary as we cannot accept candidates with an associates license at this time.
  • A master's degree in a relevant field such as counseling, psychology, or social work is essential; equivalent education will be considered.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word) is required to facilitate documentation and reporting tasks effectively.
  • You should possess a calm demeanor and the ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
